Account & Shop Policies
Requirements for maintaining your seller account
Account Requirements
- You must be at least 18 years old to sell on Articea
- Provide accurate and complete business information
- Complete seller verification process
- Maintain a valid email address and phone number
- One account per seller (no duplicate accounts)
Shop Standards
- Shop name must be unique and not infringe on trademarks
- Profile picture and shop banner must be appropriate
- Shop description must accurately represent your products
- Maintain professional communication with customers
Product Listing Policies
Guidelines for creating product listings
Allowed Products
- Handmade items created by you
- Vintage items (20+ years old)
- Craft supplies and tools
- Digital downloads (patterns, templates, art)
- Customizable and personalized items
Prohibited Items
- Counterfeit or replica items
- Items that infringe on intellectual property rights
- Illegal items or services
- Weapons, drugs, or hazardous materials
- Adult content or explicit materials
- Hate speech or discriminatory items
- Mass-produced factory items (not handmade)
Listing Requirements
- Accurate product titles and descriptions
- Clear, high-quality product photos (minimum 3 images)
- Correct categorization and tags
- Accurate pricing and shipping information
- Honest representation of item condition and materials
Pricing & Fees
Understanding Articea's fee structure
Seller Fees
- Listing Fee: Free to list products
- Transaction Fee: 5% of the sale price (including shipping)
- Payment Processing: 2.9% + ₹2 per transaction
- Currency Conversion: 2.5% for international sales
Pricing Guidelines
- Set fair and competitive prices
- Include all costs (materials, labor, shipping) in your pricing
- Clearly state any additional fees or customization charges
- Honor the price listed at the time of purchase
Order Fulfillment & Shipping
Requirements for processing and shipping orders
Processing Time
- Ship orders within your stated processing time (1-7 business days recommended)
- Update processing time if you need more time
- Communicate delays to customers immediately
- Mark orders as shipped with tracking information
Shipping Standards
- Package items securely to prevent damage
- Use appropriate shipping methods for item type
- Provide tracking numbers when available
- Clearly state shipping costs and delivery timeframes
- Ship to the address provided by the customer
Customer Service & Communication
Standards for customer interactions
- Respond to customer messages within 24-48 hours
- Maintain professional and courteous communication
- Address customer concerns and complaints promptly
- Provide accurate information about products and policies
- Honor your shop policies (returns, exchanges, cancellations)
Returns, Refunds & Cancellations
Policy requirements for handling returns
Return Policy
- Clearly state your return policy in your shop
- Accept returns for items not as described
- Process returns within 7 days of receipt
- Refund the full purchase price (minus shipping) for valid returns
Cancellations
- Honor cancellation requests before shipping
- Clearly state your cancellation policy
- Process refunds within 3-5 business days
Intellectual Property Rights
Protecting your work and respecting others
- Do not sell items that infringe on copyrights, trademarks, or patents
- Only use images and content you have rights to use
- Respect brand names and logos
- Report any intellectual property violations you encounter
- Articea will remove listings that violate IP rights
Policy Violations & Consequences
What happens if policies are violated
Violation Actions
- First Violation: Warning and listing removal
- Second Violation: Temporary account suspension (7-30 days)
- Severe/Repeated Violations: Permanent account termination
- Fraudulent Activity: Immediate account termination and legal action
Articea reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these policies. Sellers will be notified of violations and given an opportunity to appeal.
